- Subaru will not build the base model of its BRZ sports coupe for the 2026 model year
- The move makes the BRZ seem more expensive, though few buyers were paying its low entry price
The Subaru BRZ sports coupe will look much more expensive in 2026. Subaru has removed the affordable base model, the Premium, from the BRZ lineup.
The 2025 BRZ on dealer lots today starts at $34,380, including delivery fees. The 2026 model will start at $37,055 in most states (Subaru charges slightly higher delivery fees in some states).
But the price jump is mostly an illusion. With the Premium gone, the cheapest 2026 BRZ is the Limited model. Its price has barely moved — the Limited started at $37,030 in model year 2025. The $25 price bump reflects an increase in shipping costs.
The only other meaningful change to the car for the new model year is a limited edition called the BRZ Series.Yellow. It comes in, you guessed it, Sunrise Yellow with a black interior accented with yellow stitching. Subaru will build just 350 copies, each of them equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The BRZ has long been one of the few ways to get a low-priced performance car in America. It shares almost all of its parts with the Toyota GR86, one of several joint projects between the two companies.
Toyota has not scratched the base model GR86 from its 2026 lineup. That car can still be found for as low as $33,095.
2026 Subaru BRZ Pricing
Subaru charges $1,195 to deliver the BRZ in most states, and $1,345 to deliver it to Alaska. The company notes that delivery prices may vary in Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
